Maritza is a former Making Faces student and is extremely excited to join the team this year. Born with a cleft lip and palate, Maritza understands what it is like to grow up with a facial difference and looks forward to sharing her experiences with others.
Maritza is currently working in the Possibility Engineering and Research Lab (PEARL) at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto. Her work focuses on using various technologies and media platforms to bring possibilities to children with disabilities.
Through her work at Holland Bloorview and her own experiences in the healthcare community, Maritza is most passionate about giving young people a chance to find a new level of confidence in their own unique abilities.
